Disband of Umbra Domini

Well, it's hard to salvage a dying plant and despite everything, all good things will have to end. The decision has been made to just disband Umbra Domini and we have to face the hard facts that we do not have enough healer or dpser or tanker to run dungeons not to mention kara. I want to thank Gidger for being a good GM all these while and provide support to all of us casual players. I guess it's time for us all to move to another guild we find suitable so we can contribute over there instead and work towards end game raid or something.

I'm sure we'll never forget Umbra Domini for during our growing up years. It has been fun playing with everyone in there and I would like to thank everyone for their contribution in making Umbra Domini a great guild!

Guild Morale

I've also noticed recently that our guild morale has been greatly affected because some of our senior guild members quitted. Gidger was having a rough time :( Let me just reinstate that no one forced or coerced anyone to leave the guild, we are not that type of guild. But as matured and responsible players, we should just enjoy the game as it is and have fun.

There is no point in letting what others think about your gamestyle or comments affect us in anyway personally until there's no turning back. I've always envisioned a really nice virtual world, where everyone is nice and polite to each other :) and I think I've seen that in Umbra Domini where everyone greets each other and there's always something nice to say to each other.

Why can't we continue to grow our guild that way? If everyone will just learn to forgive and forget, then everything will be much easier. I understand that there will be tensions and dramas during instance run or when you think that no one is there to help, it's really fine to feel angry or dissappointed (we've all been there) ....lol cos we're all humans and it's perfectly normal, we're all different. But please do NOT let those little episodes which happened during one instance run to ruin your entire chances of building beautiful friendship with your own guildy or the others you met online.

We can always choose to be nice or otherwise, but please don't forget we're there to have fun :)

Welcome New Members

I want to apologized first and foremost to all the new guildies who has joined us recently. We never really officially had any party or any celebrations to welcome them, but everyone especially the senior guild members are very appreciative that they chose to join us. I'd like to once again welcome each and every new members for joining the guild eventhough this is probably not one of the 'BEST' guild around.

Umbra Domini has always been about fun and we're mostly casual players, we'll never pressure anyone within the guild to level fast. So please keep that in mind and be there for each other.

WoW mods

Hi all got another for you if your not using this your doing to much stuffing around with mods or you aint got any mods at all and are missing out!

I use a program called WoWaceupdater you can use this to automatically select mods and also update them ALL from time to time so you have the latest version running.

Its REALLY simple. Just download the updater at http://sourceforge.net/projects/wowaceupdater

and extract all the files into a directory on your computer somewhere, I suggest C:/program files/wowace then make the 'wowaceupdater.exe' a shortcut on your desktop by right clicking on the file then clicking 'send to' then 'desktop'

Then open the program and select all the mods that appeal to you to make WOW easier and then hit F12 to install the mods.

When wanting to update the mods open the wowaceupdater shortcut and hit F10

New Guild Event

Hi all! Looks like nothing much has happen in our guild lately. As such being the usual nosy self, I'd like to call for a new guild event where we go and attempt another death defying monster slaying session. Everyone who holds any grudge against those monster of nightmare are welcome to join us, and I believe we now have enough level 70s to give him a nightmare of his own :) Anyway, the event will be this coming Saturday (21st July) at around 2pm (Perth's time), 3pm (Sydney/Melbourne), 1pm (Kuala Lumpur/Singapore) and figure it yourself if you live anywhere else :P lol

The Bank, Tabard, and Guild event.

Firstly thank you to all those people that spent time coming to the guild runs to help make money for the bank, the bank now has over 230 gold, and some items still to sell.

Next i would like to mention the tabard, because of the number of entries and comments from guildies I have decided to allow people to vote for either black and white, or the current colors and a choice between three icons. Sorry to those entries that is not one of these. Link on the side shows what they look like on a human guy. Please send me your vote via post in game or whisper gidger/Kelris, I would like to see this done quickly.

Lastly i would like people suggestions on this weeks guild event(nothing to do with the bank please)
some suggestions I’ve heard;

• raid on horde
• party in the park, prizes for duel contests or other stuff
• raid throw a high level instance (pointless but maybe fun)

Anyway please post some suggestions and your opinion and then we see what we can do together.

Who's who in the guild and rankings

Ok, I don't like to gloat or make a big fuss about the rankings in the guild. As far as I'm concerned everyone's the same in the guild and share the same importance. However, just so everyone am aware of who's the one who make most decisions and go for advice below are the rankings and some information you might find useful.

Guild Master - Gidger (Supreme Commander) ;)
Inquisitor - Seraquim, Teezoor, Trob, Leesar/Leeberty (Rank 1)
Cardinal - Reserved to the pioneers who have joined the guild at an early stage (Rank 2)
Archbishop - Promotion from Bishop (Rank 3)
Bishop - Promotion from Priest (Rank 4)
Priest - Probationary Members (Rank 5)

Everyone's who is an Archbishop and above are given the privilege to publish their post on this blog. (However, it is not compulsory ;) Also Priest levels are usually temporary, once they've completed their dungeon run for the bank, they are automatically promoted to Bishop, they will be promoted base on other merits as well for eg. helping other members with runs, contibutions to the bank etc. Please take note that member who is under the rank of 'Priest' will not have the benefit to loan from the Umbra Bank yet. (This is only temporary because we need to make sure that the funds in the guild is sufficient for confirmed members).

Umbra Bank Guidelines

Our very own Umbra Bank is now open to everyone in the guild! Hooray! Please read through the guidelines below as to who can access funds and how...

Money

• Money in the bank will be use to 'loan' guild members that need it for mount purposes. Level 40 Mount, Level 60 Epic Mount, Level 70 Flying Mount, level 70 Epic Flying Mount.
• Any members who are above the rank of 'Priest' in the guild can loan from the bank. (In order to be promoted to higher rank within the guild, members have to be with the guild for a certain period of time, shown their support to the guild by helping other guild members, contibute recipes/formulas/patterns to the bank etc.)
• Members can request for 100% Level 40 and 60 mount financing. Whereas it is only 50% financing for Level 70 Flying and Epic Flying mount.
• Loan to be repaid once members reached 3 levels higher than their existing levels. For eg. For level 40, those who have loaned from the bank must repay back by the time they reached level 43. (Same system for level 60) However, for level 70 members, they can pay back the money in 1-month time from the period of loan.

Recipes/Formulas/Patterns/Plans

• Anyone can sell to the bank whichever recipe which they think can benefit other guild members.
• If they need to buy from the bank then please mail to Umbrabank the recipe/patterns which you need.
• All transactions through the Umbrabank will be on C.O.D. basis.
• Please refer to the bank link to check the cost of selling and buying those recipe.

Please discuss with Gidger, the Guild Master if you have any issues with the guidelines stated here. We hope to see that everyone remains in the guild and can contribute to make it the best guild in the land of Azeroth.

Guild Event (Fund Raising for Umbra Bank)

Hi! I would like to update everyone that there will be a dungeon run involving everyone in the guild whereby the proceeds from the drops/gold will go towards our very own bank. Everyone will do their part so they can later have access to the funds in the bank.

Please take note of your current levels, and decide which dungeon you want to run...(and decide whether to use your main character or alternates). I will then put in the scheduled time so everyone will be aware of it.

Below are the instance which is worth doing the runs in terms of looting and items. There will be 5 team members for each group/levels. (Looting preference will be set to Master Loot : Meaning only the group leader will collect money and items which will then be reported back to the GM and posted on the bank website)

Deadmines : Level 15 - 28 (Group A Leader: Rhet)
Scarlet Monastery : Level 29-45 (Group B Leader: Leesar)
Sunken Temple : Level 46-59 (Group C Leader: Phaeton)
Scholomance : Level 60 - 70 (Group D Leader: Trob)

A leader will be assigned to the dungeon run and then will be put in charge of the entire run. To set up the schedule and discuss with team members. (It will then be helpful to put members name on the blog, so everyone is aware of it and members don't have to do it twice) I've tentatively set the leader for each dungeon. (Please let me know if you can't be the leader.)

* Once the run is over, please report to Gidger the Guild Master and who has been involved in the dungeon run. Gidger act as the Leader for all group as such please liase with him on what you need and your preferred schedule.

Hope everyone can participate in the runs, the leader on each group can now start to recruit and get their list of interested participants and set up the time and date to do the dungeon run. To make it worthwhile for members, those who's rank is below cardinal level will be promoted another rank once the run is over.

Tabard Competition coming to an End

Thanks for all the people who gave their opionion and suggestion on the guild tabard.

You still have until late friday night to get anymore suggestions to me after i will number the tabards and voting will begin and the winner will recieve 25 gold. To vote you will have to mail the one you like the best to gidger in the game so that i know people are only voting once. You will have until Sunday night to send me your vote. The winner will then be announed on Monday night and sent their reward.

Just a reminder the suggested tabards so far appear here, also know numbering will be added to each of the tabards in the next day or so. To make voting simpler

The first tabard is the current tabard we have now.

Umbra Bank

Just to touch base, and since no one contribute to any ideas of what to put in the bank, (and majority rules) ....the idea is to have only money and recipe in the bank. (we might amend it abit to include mats like arcanite, etc. later, leave it to you all to decide and add to this comments)

Why Money? - Those who have reached level-40 in the guild can get their mount faster as well as those who are in their level-60 would need money for their epic mounts as well. As such the money in the bank will be used strictly for mount, epics mount, flying mount and epic flying mount. ( How to get the money, will be posted soon so everyone will be aware of it)

* We will have more guild events/raids to first sow some money for the bank. Details later.

Why Recipe? - Guild members will get various recipe from drops from time to time and may benefit other members. As such, guild members can send those recipe to the umbrabank (on C.O.D.) basis to be sold to other members, so that the bank will have money to stand on it's own. As of how much those recipe will cost, we will let you know in the next few postings on this blog.

Netherweave Bag (16-slot)

Hi guildies, in case you are not aware...everyone can buy 16-slotters neatherweave bag from any tailors in our guild for a very very cheap rates. Auction house is selling those bag at an average of 7G 50S to 8G if I am not mistaken. And after I check and found out that the cost of making those bags are around 5G 46S, so I guess it is only fair to sell it to guild members at 6G each. So please ignore the earlier announcement of 3G for the bags..it is now selling at 6G or else the tailor will be making losses. (It is still cheaper than what you get in AH, and so we hope it helps everyone in the guild.)

For those who has gotten the bags at 3G please repay Gid or the tailor you bought it from.

Hi all! I've added a member list on the sidebar so we will know who's who in the guild. We have so many new alternate charaters that it is so easy to be confuse at times. Please scan through the list and let me or other blog authors know if there's a mistake. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Guild Bank

We now have a guild bank (Umbrabank) in the next couple of days a link will appear somewhere on this blog. This link will lead to a page that show what stuff the bank currently contains.

Now i need suggestion as to what the bank should contain.
e.g
recipes for professions (would be good)
materials for prof (maybe)
weapons and armour (properly not)
save money (based on lee's prevoius post)
etc.

Please post your thoughts and suggestion they are much appreciated.

Pool Money

Hi all! I was wondering whether you guys and gals will agree to the idea of starting a pool money whereby we start savings and then redistribute the money to member once it reached 100G.

Something like all members contribute 1G (min) each or more and when the pool reached 100G it will be distributed to either the highest guild member (active) or the lowest guild member (active) within our guild so they can use that fund to purchase items which is otherwise going to take forever to save.

The tresurer will then record within the blog as to the progress of the money and who's turn next to use the funds.

Does it makes sense?

A New Guild tabard

Anyone who wants to design the guild tabard please visit the guild master in one of the major cities and click I want to create guild crest.

Change the values as you see fit and remember by how many you changed each value.

Please send me these numbers I will then post screenshots of these tabards on the blog and people can vote for the best one.

Send me as many as you want, i hope to see some designs soons.

The person who creates the winning tabard will recive 25 gold, I hope this encourages people to join in.

When are we going to be ready?

Hi ppl...look! I was just wondering when are we going to be ready to take down this dragon together? I am sure it will be fun ;)

Here are some of his special abilities:

Sleep - Roaming AoE sleep cloud that targets random areas around Lethon and sleeps players caught within for 4 seconds.

Noxious Breath - Deals 3000 Nature damage and applies a 30 second DoT that increases cooldowns on all abilities by 10 seconds and inflicting 350 to 450 Nature damage every 3 seconds. The DoT can stack up to 6 times. The main tank should be the only one affected by this.

Tail Sweep - Knocks anyone near his tail back, inflicting 600 to 1000 damage.

25% ability: Summon Shades - Everyone in range will be stunned briefly and a shade will walk out of their body. The shades will walk toward Lethon and will heal him if they reach him. The shades have 1 health and are immune to AoE spells.

Mark of Nature - If a player is killed by Lethon, they will be afflicted by a 15 minute debuff called Mark of Nature. If resurrected during this time, they will be slept for 2 minutes rather than 4 seconds if they enter combat.

Shadow Bolt Whirl - Fires four sets of shadow bolts at everyone on one side of him, then alternates to the other side, dealing 800-1200 damage. On each volley his feet will glow.

Port - Ports the player who has the most aggro in front of Lethon if he trys to run out of combat. This ability has first been noted after patch 2.0.1.

Ok..ok...I may not be the world famous fashion designer. As such I will have no clue as to the symbols or color that we should choose for our tabard. Personally I still prefer black...so can you guys offer some suggestions via the blog as to whether we should change the design again? Please...please...please?

A new Guild Master...a new beginning

For those who is still not aware of what has been happening in our guild, I'd just like to inform you guys know that we have recently changed our guild master.

I'd liked to take this opportunity and on behalf of all guild members for the wonderful leadership that Seraquim has shown ever since the beginning of the guild. (He's somone that will never say 'no' to any dungeon run just so he can help younger guild member level and am always helpful).

And we'd like to all congratulate Gidger for sharing with us all the wonderful stuffs and experience only a high level know ;) as well as being there with us 24/7 :P
